Tutoring is very personal. It requires trust, risk-taking, and a tremendous amount of self awareness. It is also ineffective if the learner is not engaged, bored, or fearful.
For these reasons, Achieve Academics tries very hard to humanize the process. We understand that the rapport between a tutor and a student can make or break the learning opportunity in any session. We don't go as far as to say its "fun" but we can say that our students enjoy their time and look forward to their next session.
We attribute this to the amount of time we take getting to know our potential clients, their families, and in many cases their educators. Because our team members are from the communities we serve, we deem it important to connect all of the dots necessary to help our students flourish.
If you read about our assessments, you know that our programs begin with a diagnostic test. This assessment helps us identify gaps in knowledge. From there we discuss the best program and tutor (or tutors) with whom to match the student. If we make a mistake (we're not perfect), we'll set up an alternative match.
